Magic card I made around 2-3 years ago, seems like I never posted it here.

I remember when this was the meta. Innistrad zombies with some wicked bonuses from Amonkhet. Had some real fun interactions.
The last thing in saying on this is that when I started playing Magic was something that I could spend a normal amount of money on and get a full experience and was able to push my play to higher levels, with premium products that I could splurge on once or twice because they were fun and different. Now there’s cards I can’t get without spending a ton at once or paying someone else for them, the premium products are priced well out of my reach even though I have MORE disposable income, and the high level play is so insanely expensive that it’s literally impossible for me to even play. So yes, I feel like I’ve been shoved out of Magic in favor of the people who can and do spend a ton of money on every Magic thing regardless of the pricetag they put on it, and that pisses me off, and I refuse to be told “well it’s just not FOR you” when it used to be for EVERYONE and that “well you don’t HAVE to buy it” when not being able to participate in parts of the game I love makes my experience objectively worse than the experience that people with money get to have.
There seems to be a rhetoric that I’ve seen online that players shouldn’t be upset about the high price, but I think that viewpoint is incredibly disingenuous.
Masters sets were typically the only avenue for players to get cheaper copies of some incredibly expensive cards. With how difficult it is to get into eternal formats as it is, Wizards using their chance to reprint cards at both a limited run and a significantly higher price than usual is incredibly disappointing.
This is even more upsetting for players not in the US (i.e. Canada) as Tariffs and conversion rates have made this product cost exorbitantly more.
It would cost me $500 to purchase a box of this set for myself.

That’s what I mean by it warping the format.
Lightning Strike is more than fine for Standard. As much as I like Bolt, it would definitely be too efficient for the format.
All opinions are held. Glad you liked the mechanic!
Cipher was a super cool/flavorful mechanic that was put on too many overcosted/low impact cards.
Recasting spells for free has developmental issues for sure, but I think Wizards was too conservative on Cipher.
